Tanner Mathy has been showing POAs since 2006. He started riding a pony by the name of Twist N Snap Pants (Levi) and together they were the 2006 International Reserve Champions in 8 & Under Boys Showmanship. 2008 marks Tanner’s second year in the 9-12 division and he now rides PVP Impulses Reward (Flash). Tanner rides under the instruction of Becky Solberg.

Hi! My name is Staci Stapleton.  I am 17 years old and am attending Oconomowoc High School as a junior.  I have been riding horses since I was able to sit and started showing soon after.  I’ve been involved in many local horse clubs, 4-H, and POAC of course.  The past ponies I have shown include Best Spot Zap, Roanalita, Hez A Grand Slam, Fly’s Glory Bound, Gloryfied, and Rusty Royal Gold.  Let me tell you, those were some good years and all those ponies have taught me so much.  I just purchased a handful, Zippo’s Classic Lad, who I hope to finish out my last two years on.  Other than horses, which are my life, I’m involved in community service programs, FFA, and Junior State Association.  Things I do on my free time include singing, photography, drawing, poetry, hanging with friends, and probably the thing I do the most, sleeping.  Future plans consist of going to school to be an Equine Vet or being a horse trainer, but we’ll see how that goes! I’m a pretty outgoing person, so if you have any questions or concerns feel free to talk to me!
Hi! My Name is Micah Ends. I am 16 years old and I have been Showing Horses and Ponies for 8 years. I have been showing POA for 3 years. I own and show my mare MM Skip a Brick-“Emmie”.  I also own MP’S Genuine Gold “Turk”. I hope to show Turk in the yearling Classes in 2008. My favorite classes to Show are Halter and Western Pleasure. When I am not showing and riding ponies I like to sleep, listen to music, hang out with friends, and work.
Hello, My name is Taylor Matrisch.  I am 10 years old and a 5th grader at Pleasant Prairie Elementary School.  My pony is Cookie's April Surprise, I call her April.  She is a four year old leopard mare.  Even though I have been showing since I was 5, I have only been showing POA's and April for 1 year.  We have already accomplished so much. In fact, we received year end, walk trot highpoints from multiple open show series.  Our awards included a belt buckle and my first embroidered jacket.  My favorite POA class is 9-12 showmanship of which we ended the year 3rd overall.  When I am not showing/riding horses, I enjoy fishing, scrap booking, dancing, singing, woodworking, raising/showing pigs and just being a 10 year old.  I am looking forward to representing the WPOAC as Princess at the Midwest Horse Fair as well as representing Wisconsin as the 2007 Miss Wisconsin COED Sweetheart.  A special thank you to the Gathings/Otterness for sharing the POA world with me. I hope April and I have made you proud.
Hi! My name is Grace Cowgill, and I am really excited to be the WPOAC  Tiny Tot Princess for 2008! I will soon be 8, and am a second grader at Cathedral Elementary School in La Crosse, WI. I started riding when I was 4 with my awesome trainer, Becky Solberg. Dr. Eva Dahl gave me the opportunity to learn to ride with a wonderful Supreme Champion named Santee Foxy Lady. She was my 5th Birthday present. I loved my lead line days with Foxy, and learned so much from her. I will miss her, but my Mom says Foxy has earned her retirement! So, I am super excited to be riding my awesome new pony, Picabo Street. Becky has been working really hard with Picabo and me, so we will be ready for the upcoming show season!  I really like English and Western Pleasure classes, but am getting more comfortable with patterns. I'm actually starting to like Showmanship, and I never thought I'd say that! When I'm not riding, I love to dance and swim. I have a younger brother named Jonah, and sister named Sophie. I am looking forward to my very first Internationals in 2008! See you all there!
My Name is Ty Wallis and my pony is Firestorm’s Frosty (Stormy). He is one of my best friends!  I am in 1 st grade at Powers Elementary school in the Township of Beloit, WI. Last year I showed in 6 & Under Showmanship and Leadline. This year I have been walk / trotting everywhere, and I even started to lope all by myself! Mom hopes I am in control by show season so I can show in all the 8 & under classes, but I really just want to go FAST! After all Grandma and Grandpa’s farm is called Wild Wind Ranch – By the way I‘m not the only one that shows POA’s in my family.  Let’s see, I’ll list them from Oldest rider to youngest.  Nicole Trongeau (Aunt Coley) & Macs Precious Moments; Steven Llanas-Rera & KBC’s Poco Puff Kid; Ali Llanas (my sister) & Truly An Asset; and Lexi Llanas & Cameo Dan Dee, and then it’s ME.  We are getting too many POA’s so Grandpa had to get a new trailer and it fits 6 – so there is room for one more for my baby cousin Austin, but Grandpa says we need that room for hay.  When I am not riding Stormy I am shooting hoops or playing with my cats Diesel & Sassy, and my dog Mac.  I just want to say Thank you to My Grandma and Grandpa Sharon & Al Llanas for getting Ali a new pony so I don’t have to share, and for letting me have Stormy!  I also want to say Thank you to my Aunt Nicole for helping me ride better, and My Mommy & Daddy for driving me everywhere! Good luck to everyone in 2008, and remember HAVE FUN and just keep moving forward!
